If you give an inch, you know they'll take it and that's the taste that brings them back for more. That's why I'm on the side of every lawsuit against this, not because I think bump stocks are necessary.

Unfortunately, it’s the same end result. But to go down without a fight is unacceptable. Same as any other right, freedom of speech, etc.
It amazes me that there are people who will point out countries with gross human rights violations but want the same here and don’t see them as a negative as they try to implement them.
Is it blind hated for those that love freedom or naivety to the human condition and the corruption that follows?
Words have power. We need to quit using the word "compromise" when it comes to gun control. A compromise means we've gained something when in the vast majority of the times, we have only lost less than we might have otherwise. We should be calling them concessions.
Somehow we often get duped into justifying our "need". They talk about "ARs aren't hunting rifles". Okay. Where in the constitution does it say "In order to put food on the table, the right to bear arms shall not be infringed"?
The second amendment has nothing to do with hunting and, frankly, nothing to do with walking your dog safely and not being raped or whatever. It's about maintaining a free state...free from foreign invaders and domestic tyranny. And for that, we need to be better armed than 10-round handguns.
As for what do you "need that for" as I get asked in our gun store/feed store sometimes, I respond, "I need food, clothing, and shelter. That's it. But in this country, we don't have to justify our purchases. If we earn our money honestly, and buy legal items, then that's none of anyone's business what or why we 'need' it. My wife sure as hell doesn't need a Louis Vuitton purse, but she has several. She works hard and chooses to spend her/our money on that. So be it. Luckily we live in a country where our NEEDS are easy to meet and we are free to meet our WANTS. What we don't NEED is to justify our WANTS."
So let's stop feeling like we have to explain why we NEED an AR to hunt deer or what we're so afraid of that we NEED to carry a gun everywhere. We're taking the bait.

Show up in Austin Wednesday morning for the hearing on HB 238? If we can make the feds responsible for enforcing federal overreaching laws without any help from state law enforcement, that pretty much tells them to go pound sand.
