So... eerie story.
I had a meeting with my counterpart and boss Monday in Big Spring. Boss said to meet at McAlister's Deli for lunch. I made it there before either one showed up, so I grabbed a seat outside on the patio to bask in the sun. My counterpart showed up and we sat there talking and enjoying the warmth of the day. During our discussions a motorcycle came rolling up and found himself a park. As the rider came walking up to the door I acknowledged him and nodded, he responded with a "how you fellas doing?" I looked back and said "Doing good. Pretty day to be riding that thing" he responded back with a smile "any day is a good day!" I just chuckled and the guy went inside. Boss showed up a few minutes later and we wen't in and ordered. The rider was sitting a few tables down from us and having lunch with some folks he met there.
We finished lunch and meeting and I headed back North towards Snyder on hwy 350. Made it out about 7 miles when I came up to a wreck. Hwy was shut down. Waited 10mins before DPS let us through. As I passed by... there was a motorcycle crashed in the ditch. It was mangled up badly... but it looked just like the same bike I saw at the deli. I thought to myself... "there's no way..."
My counterpart just texted me and said that rider died.
Just goes to show ya.... you don't know when your card is gonna get pulled. I have thought about it a lot.... it kinda freaked me out. THAT day was NOT a good day to ride.
Sad story.
