If I were close I would go but I just enjoy the shows. I don't expect guns being given away or any great deals either. While they still can be found they aren't the majority.

That being said, many dealers have forgotten the spirit of gun shows and I believe that will only continue their decline.

For example, last show I was at I was looking at an overpriced firearm and the dealer asked if he could start some paperwork for me. I asked if he could do anything on the price since I had cash and my CHL.

Nope. Nope from me too then.

You have 300 guns here and can't come off full msrp to move one? This is what most gun shows are coming to and why they are hurting.

It sucks but I still enjoy the show.

I’ve been to 2 gun shows. I don’t get it? They charge admission just to get in and look at overpriced firearms? Naw, I’ll pass.

not worth your time. If you are in the DFW area just go to the one in Fort Worth. The Premier Fort Worth gun show is the only big one left that I know of.
My buddy likes Big Town over Market Hall now. Don't go to Ftw because I don't wanna pay to park. Market Hall blows now. It's on life support. That said, My buddy at the last show found an old guy selling some type of WW2 collectible rifle and got it for a song. I don't go unless I am bored or need something now. Some of the dealers are real asshats too. Me, heading to N Dallas to look at a Beemer. I was at the cycle show yesterday.

Nope. Not as long as this stupidity is in their rules:

No loaded open or concealed carrying of firearms, magazines or clips.

I'm not going to disarm, then freaking UNLOAD MY MAGS, just to walk around and look at guns. I can do that at gun dealers all day at no charge and be treated with respect. Dallas Arms Collectors Association can go to hell...or pull their heads out and understand that concealed carriers are the most law abiding segment of the population.

Actually at one of the Fort Worth shows last year a CHL licensee was arrested for stealing handguns and such off of vendors tables. He had several in his backpack when he was arrested. I got this from a vendor whose table was next to the one where the guy was arrested.

Now how much of the unload mags, 30.06/30.07 is the venue’s rules ? Could it be the venue makes that a requirement for the various shows to be held there ?

Well most likely, they want to limit people pulling out loaded guns to try holsters or other reasons. Shot Show is the same way. I think the NRA expo allowed LTC with no issue.

    This.
I still go but its mainly for the entertainment of laughing at the retarded prices.
Anything classic or collectable is insanely priced. Or its been Bubba'ed to hell. Sometimes both!
No I am not interested in your 1950's chop job 1903 Springfield for $1000.
Colt Pythons are a typical example. $3000 for a six shot revolver?!?!?!?! Pythons aren't all that great anyways but $3K?!?!?! No wonder there are so many for sale.
For $3K+ the damn thing better come with a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader.

Well I went yesterday and had a good time. Lots of BS spread around. But as said, it's on life support and the O2 tank is on empty. Not a lot of large dealers. The main hall was appx 1/2-2/3 full. Nothing in the side or back room. Wide isles, etc. The last Big Town show I went to was larger. I keep saying I'm not going any more but who knows. Cost $20 to get in (2 of us), sold a scale for $20 and got my knife sharpened for $4 and wandered for 3+ hours. Enjoyable day. Then went to the VFW and watched the Cowboys win.

Right now I like to go because there are a number of vendors I visit with each show. It allows me to get out of the house. Being I recently had neck surgery and activities are limited, being able to be on my feet and walk around for several hours is a very good thing. Did I say it allows me to get out of the house ? There is a vendor there I can get certain bullets from that I can’t seem to get elsewhere and even with tax it cheaper than I could get them shipped. Of course at the moment I can’t carry much but it allows me to concentrate on my quest for High Standards.

Ft Worth is held at City owned property, so by law cannot be 30.06 posted by the city. The stock show used to be posted every year until the law changed. Now the signs at the ticket counters are all gone. (rodeo is still off limits by law though)
