Did a little flying at the club Saturday. Just took some foamies for the day.

This pic was taken in Waco when I was there as a guest. Normally I fly in Grand Prairie Golden Triangle.

Looks like a Parkzone T-28 in your pic, great flying foamy!

Yep, had it for several years now. It’s set up with a home made pan/tilt camera for FPV. Fun way to fly but has its own challenges.

Need to replace the tail feathers. The elevator started separating so I had to make a new hinge using scotch tape. Considered getting a new one but this one has been faithful for a long time.

Finally tackled the windshield on the Cub. Was bad enough with the first one being roughly cut to shape. Going from scratch has been a nightmare for me.

Started with a piece of poster board and got it roughly cut to shape. Traced it on to a sheet of heavy paper slightly oversized and fine tuned it, the. Taped it down to a sheet of .015 Lexan for the final cut. Fits pretty good. Not perfect, but I would screw it up if I tried to get it any better.

Put the cowl and wings back on with the windshield pinned in place for a motivational preview.

Those shapes are tough. I learned the method of true size true shape projections in college. Let me rephrase that - it was part of the lesson plan. A part that I didn't learn very well.

I have thru 12/31/18 to renew my AMA membership and I'm seriously questioning it's value at this point.

Does that say if I'm not listed and collect aerial images from my toy planes, I'm a criminal?

If I fly over a bigass public lake and my images can't identify any single individual, I'm still a crook?

But if I collect any images at no more than 8' AGL, I'm GTG?

Reads like an FAA wet dream of relegating all drone use to commercial and corporate activity.

And it sounds like you’re correct. Want to do some hunting and see who voted for the garbage.

The ONLY reason I give them a dime is for club membership. They have been pretty much worthless when it comes to protecting the hobby and provide nothing but (probably) worthless insurance coverage to clubs.

Hopefully I’ll be able to put it in the air Saturday.

Built to hold 3 cameras (CMOS or GoPro/action cam) and FPV gear. Running stock it’ll do 10-15 minutes in the air, some guys have made a few changes and are getting an hour or more.

I’m mostly gonna use it as a glider.

I hope that's the 2m version, otherwise you must live in a doll house. ;)

"Glider" is pushing it but they are floaty. If you're going to test the manuverability limits have some height, they can be deceiving on signaling stall.

LHS has one in nearly new condition for 165, I've been considering it. Let me know how you like it.

There is no question for me in regards to its value. Value is next to nothing. Worthless. Compelled membership, required by the club.
Club dues paid thru August and can't go there w/o AMA so I renewed. May be the last time, we shall see.

I’ve read the whole thread on RCG. Seems the spinning issue is only happens if you put the CG too far back.

I’m more worried about it chopping my hand up when I launch it.
