I guess it all depends on what is meant by punished. Withholding republican funds could be considered punishment.

    easy rider,

Wasn't I clear that WITHHOLDING Republican Party funds from RINOS is an appropriate punishment?? = Let the RINOS raise their own funds (if they can do so), IF they won't support the GOP Platform AND our POTUS.

I bitterly resent ANY of my few dollars, that I can afford to donate to the RNC & other GOP funds, being given to RINOS.

Without pay doesn't mean any pay. If you worked you will get paid because the law says you get paid. Furloughed workers have gotten paid also for government shutdowns. The essential and furloughed workers have gotten paid at the same time. For me, I would rather be nonessential and get time off and the back pay.

This country not being Nazi Germany or the Soviet Union, I need you to take your opinion:

And then think about what you said.

So, I take it you don't like what he said, but your reply

I solved that problem, I don't donate to any of them. They steal enough with out my giving them any more of my money voluntarily.

Could you try that again, this time making at least syntactical sense?

Didn't think so. In case you're not picking up what I'm putting down, I was objecting to his assertion that everybody must 100% follow The Party Line and The Leader, or be shunned. That kinda talk simply ain't 'murican.

They keep mentioning federal workers being upset. Many if not most except law enforcement federal workers probably are not voting republican anyway.

800,000 employees are affected by the Shutdown. The essential employees are working without pay right now. About 400,000 are considered essential employees. Their time is being kept and they will be paid for what they work if they are essential employees. They are in IOU status from the government. Some dipshat law firm filed a suit against the government for essential employees. They will crash and burn on that. The non-essential employees have always gotten paid in full also. Here in Texas you can sign up for unemployment without having to engage in job hunting if you are a non-essential federal employee. So no government employee will be harmed in the long run. I was a non-essential employee and enjoyed my paid days off...lol.

Must be a different government I worked for when I was furloughed. I was able to collect unemployment, which was no where near as much as I was making and which I had to pay taxes on. There was no pay or back pay other than that. Time in service was the only thing that counted.

I'm starting to perceive that Trump is harming the nation and particularly the GOP base with his wall obsession. Lest we forget that his actual pre-election promise was that Mexico would fund the wall. The conservative media has forgotten that inconvenient fact, though we should not.

Time for him to man-up and admit that funding his wall by financially assaulting hundreds of thousands of our best American workforce is an ill-conceived enterprise?

His challenge will be in determining how to forgo the wall funding pursuit without the altered course being perceived as a Democrat victory.

Looking to me like that outcome is increasingly ineluctable.

He's painted himself into a very confined and dysfunctional corner at precisely the moment that Dem control of the House makes it imperative that he look like a leader rather than behave as a despot. Please!

I wish he and our nation well.
I suspect he sleeps poorly tonight.

I'm thinking you have a keyboard malfunction.
Your "caps lock" button seems to be randomly engaging for indeterminate intervals.

    HKShooter65,

I'm guessing that you have nothing worth saying about "content", so you decided to post nonsense about "form". - This is called, "majoring on the minors" & and is no different than complaining about typos, awkward syntax, spelling errors & other trivial bilge.

Sorry but that's how I see your comment.

I don't see it that way. Given the speech he made earlier and the representatives of border agents and ICE that spoke out in support, I think there are quite a few that don't think so either. There have been many things that my taxes have gone to that I flat out abhorred, but the wall wouldn't be one of them. There hasn't been a president yet that has been able to come through with all their campaign promises yet that I know of, but all the sudden Trump has to come through 100% or else he's the bad guy.

I would have been amazed if Mexico would have started writing checks as soon as Trump was elected, but I also don't know the extent of what Trump has in mind. The wall, fence, barrier etc, to me, is necessary, no matter who pays for it.

Can't control the immigration problem until you control the flow coming in. If the people of the United States have to write checks it should be for more border guards and ammo, not for illegals crossing our border.
